Ep 01: How Did We Get Here?
This podcast came to be because of a phone call from Jae Yee.
Jae Yee called and asked how my business was doing during this Pandemic. I have a tour business where I arrange “behind the scenes” tours of San Francisco. I told him that until there’s a vaccine Beyond The Fog would have to remain “asleep.” Jae had an idea for a podcast celebrating the history and culture of San Francisco and it’s many neighborhoods, and Beyond The Fog Radio was born! We decided to focus on the history, art, culture, and people of this city we love. Jae called Michaela, a wonderful photographer and collaborator of his, and he invited her to be our photographer, a relationship which naturally developed into a third co-host!
We are excited and motivated to bring this special space for storytelling into being. A wonderful photographer, the owner of two successful companies, J Bodyworks and Swerv Studios, and a documentary filmmaker have all put their individual experiences together to create something new. Rounding out our team is Michaela’s husband Tim O’ Shea, a photographer, composer, and musician, Tim Johnson, our graphic and web designer and Connor Chang, our editor. Beyond The Fog Radio is a podcast that celebrates the San Francisco Bay Area with stories told by very people who live, work, and love the City by the Bay .
